Use

In shrubberies in association with other deciduous Azaleas, Japanese Azaleas, Rhododendrons, maples, Pieris, Camellias, etc., in boxes or pots, or as an undergrowth plant.

Planting

In cool, acid soil. Dig a hole three times the size of the root ball. Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Half-fill the hole with a mixture of acid compost and non-chalky soil, place the plant (not too deeply) in the hole, and continue filling around the root ball. Water well after planting.

Maintenance

Water well during dry periods and especially in the first year after planting, at least once a week. Add a specialised fertiliser during the spring. Mulching the area around the plant, for example with pine bark chips, is recommended.
